LESSON PROGRAM

Boulder Equestrian Center provides a diverse lesson schedule for riders of all ages and experience levels. Our classes combine hands-on experience with knowledge-based teaching.

BEGINNER I

Ages 6 and up.  Perfect for beginner riders new to riding or with some experience. Riders will learn Walk/Trot/Groundpoles and advancing with skills under the guidance of their instructor as their skills progress. Safety, skill building and fun are the priorities for these one-hour lessons which include tacking, untacking and riding time.

BEGINNER II

Perfect for the rider preparing to canter or cantering.  Students at this level are responsible for the entire horse care process, including grooming, tacking, untacking and cooling out their horse.  Safety, fun and progress are the priorities for these one-hour lessons which include tacking, untacking and riding time.

Beginner II lessons will emphasize balance on a horse and over jumps, the basics of riding and control, relaxation, light hands and a relaxed seat. Riders develop strength to use leg pressure, control their body to quietly mount and balance to dismount.

INTERMEDIATE

Intermediate lessons are for riders who have mastered basic skills and will build from the foundation you have put down and help you move towards more advanced techniques. 

Intermediate students will further develop seat and hands, transitions within the gait, and learn how to jump over cross-rails and verticals as well as show-jumping course work, technique, and skills.

ADULT LESSONS

For riders 18 and up. This class will enable flexibility to each rider’s level, skill and experience, and set goals for your training. Safety, fun and progress are the priorities for these one-hour lessons which include tacking, untacking and riding time.
